A Letter to Pastor Ken
by Dennis Mowery
Brother Ken, thank you for your love and concern for our Christian, and non Christian, law enforcement family.
It is so unfortunate for the law enforcement community, and more importantly the public, that there is a small percentage of officers who, for many different reasons and experiences that each officer has had in their lives, give the good and honest law enforcement officers such a bad name.
I also believe and feel the same way about the non law enforcement community. They too have their personal reasons and experiences for how they act in the community.
Not all law enforcement officers understand why the bad people do what they do. And vise versa, the public doesn't understand how and why the bad police do what they do.
Bottom line; knowing what I know now about who God is and how he works in our lives, if we all had a personal relationship with God, the decisions we make as law enforcers, and as citizens would be so much different. As a young Christian, I am learning just how badly broken we really are.
The only thing that keeps my sanity anymore is knowing that there is a loving, forgiving God. A God that we can trust in and go to as we struggle with the evil in our world.
I pray for all the people of this world, (good and bad), that we realize that we cannot live in peace without God in our lives.
Pastor Ken, I hope that my comments will help you with your sermon. Feel free to adjust any part of this message to fit into your sermon if you choose to use any of it. It is yours to do as you wish. God bless.
Dennis
